David grew up taking many multimedia art classes and dismantling unattended electronic devices. He attended Northern Illinois University, studying Electrical Engineering and Physics. While at NIU, David was an active member of the Robotics Club, Fencing Club, IEEE, ASE, and the International Microelectronics and Packaging Society. During his graduate assistantship, he taught labs for microelectronics in the Department of Electrical Engineering Clean Room. He also taught labs for statics and dynamics in the Physics Department. During his time at NIU, David started a tech repair shop in downtown DeKalb and a property management company. While working as a handyman on properties and performing IT services, from repairing computers and cell phones to building websites, he also became a part of the local Rotary and Mason lodge. Unfortunately, the property management and properties were sold and closed over nine years. However, the tech shop has grown and expanded over the past 19 years to become ARMOR, Local IT and Internet Marketing. ARMOR is a business providing repair of computers, cell phones, and other general electronics while also providing new computers, servers, internet marketing, social media, web hosting, data back up, and a wide range of related IT services.
David also works with several inventors to design electronics and systems that range from small circuit boards to business intelligence systems for logistics.
While growing Armor, he now has his 13-year-old son who comes to work, learning 3D printing using TinkerCad and MarkerBots. His 8-year-old son comes in to play a little VR on the system and uses Google Tilt Brush to do some design work. The family plays a lot of Minecraft, Minecraft Dungeons, and Fortnite. David continues to build the business as a family company and establish a career development environment to teach, train, and create a better community.
